A critical aspect of the success of our operation is the recruitment of volunteers. Volunteering your time is one of the best ways to help the animals. Persons are continually needed to assist with the cleaning, care and exercising of the animals. Whether you can help walk dogs, clean cages, or assist with a fund-raising event, you can make a differece in each of the animal’s lives.

Give a little bit
Donate food, old blankets and towels you no longer need, or just lend a hand in helping maintain the shelter. Check our Wishlist for any items we desperately need.
Volunteers and supporters are crucial to the success of caring for the animals. There are many different things you can volunteer for.

Help care for the animals
Kenneling is done once a day. Each kenneling session needs one person to kennel the cats and one to kennel the dogs. The animals are given food and water, exercised, and have their kennels cleaned out. We need help seven days a week for exercising. Volunteers must be at least 18 years or older unless accompanied by an adult with parental approval.

Animal Socializing
Help the animals develop in their socialization skills by walking them, playing with them, brushing them and giving them one-on-one attention. Help them overcome traits they have that may make them less adoptable such as shyness, jumping, or barking. Something as simple as petting and brushing can make a difference.

Adopt a pet and encourage others
We are devoted to the animals entrusted to our care and do all we can to make sure they are placed in good homes. We require all prospective adoptions to be subject to application and interviewing before the animal can be released from the shelter. If the adoption is approved, the animal will be spayed or neutered and have all vaccinations brought up to date.
